When to Bring In Your Pet?
Difficulty Breathing
Is your pet showing signs of difficulty breathing or persistent coughing or gagging? Call Now
Bite Wounds
Attaches from other animals happen and your pet may need afterhours vet care. Please call.
Seizures
This frightening event where your pet cannot control their body or is shaking and drooling is an emergency.
Bleeding
Severe or uncontrolled bleeding is always a reason to seek veterinary help for any animal.
Accident
Trauma can be inflicked in many ways to our pets like being hit by a car, kicked by a moose, porcupine quill attack or bit by another animal. Please see us right away.
Vomiting or Diarrhea​

Is your pet vomiting or exibiting diarrhea and abdominal distress? Please see us, especially if there are signs of blood.
Lameness

OUR CLINIC
Since 1997, the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic has been providing emergency and critical care to Interior Alaska pets. We provide examinations, diagnostics, and treatments when the day-time veterinarians are closed. We have a veterinarian on the premises the entire time we are open. We are capable of performing emergency surgeries critical to the survival of your pet. Please note that we also offer emergency care and referrals for surgical services that are beyond our scope.
In an Emergency
In the case of an emergency, phone your regular veterinarian. If he or she is unavailable, call the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Fairbanks. Our staff will help you decide the best method for addressing the situation.

Be cautious when handling injured pets; animals often bite when afraid or in pain.
Please call before coming to our clinic. This will enable our staff to be as prepared as possible for your animal's specific illness or injury. We may also be able to suggest immediate first-aid measures you can take to aid your pet, and provide detailed directions to our clinic.
